Super Hot Boiler Common Problems: A Vancouver Homeowner’s Guide
If your Super Hot boiler stops heating or starts behaving differently, record the symptoms before requesting service. This guide covers useful observations and selected MG control messages for Vancouver and Metro Vancouver homeowners.

Start with the symptom, model and display
Tell us whether the boiler will not fire, runs while rooms stay cold, cycles frequently or has become noisy. A visible leak or repeated pressure concern should also be reported. These observations help frame the service request; they do not establish the failed component.
| Symptom | Possible areas for assessment |
|---|---|
| No ignition | Heating demand, ignition and safety controls. |
| Frequent cycling | Water flow, controls and how output matches the heating load. |
| Rumbling or moaning | Flow restrictions, deposits or air in the system. |
| Boiler hot, rooms cold | Circulation and the connected heating zones. |
MG display: STA and ERR mean different things
These examples apply only to MG boilers with the S9361A control. STA identifies an operating status; ERR identifies an error. Record the prefix as well as the number.
| Display | Meaning |
|---|---|
| STA 8 | Running status. |
| ERR 2 | The vent-damper end switch did not open as expected. |
| ERR 4 | Flame current is low. |
| ERR 6 | Flame is detected outside the normal operating sequence. |

Prepare a clear service request
Write down when the change began, which rooms are affected and whether the problem is constant or intermittent. Photograph the accessible model label and display without removing a cover. Share previous service records and let us know who can provide access to the equipment.
Do not reset a safety switch, alter gas settings or keep restarting an appliance that repeatedly shuts down. Ask for professional diagnosis and keep people away from hot-water leakage. A scheduled maintenance visit should not be used to postpone assessment of an active safety concern.

Super Hot boiler questions
Is every number on my Super Hot display an error?
No. On the S9361A control covered here, STA indicates a status and ERR an error. Include the entire message when contacting a service technician.
Do these problems mean Super Hot boilers are unreliable?
This guide helps describe service symptoms. It does not measure failure rates or predict the condition of your individual boiler. Diagnosis depends on the installation and service history.
