Planning an HVAC upgrade in Maple Ridge? Identify the program that fits your existing heating and proposed equipment. Registration of a contractor does not approve a rebate. Budget from a written installation estimate and current official terms.
Find the appropriate program
- Existing electric heating: check BC Hydro’s heat-pump requirements, including existing equipment, models, contractor qualifications and installation dates.
- Potential income-qualified support: check the CleanBC Energy Savings Program for household, property and registration requirements before work.
- Eligible gas-heating replacement: review the FortisBC dual-fuel program for equipment combinations and eligibility.
- Local updates: use the City of Maple Ridge energy-rebate page. Confirm the status of local initiatives directly with the City; do not assume a municipal payment is available.
Do not assume rebates can be combined
Funding rules differ. The current FortisBC standard dual-fuel offer restricts combining it with other FortisBC, provincial or federally funded rebates. Do not add utility and provincial headline amounts together. Obtain confirmation from the program administrator before relying on a combined total.
Confirm dates before ordering
Installation dates, application windows and available funding vary by program. Keep a dated copy of the terms for your project and confirm whether registration or approval is needed before committing. There is no single application deadline for every incentive.
Separate financing from rebates
The Canada Greener Homes Loan is closed to new applications. Do not budget using that former loan. If considering another lender, review its actual interest, fees, payments and approval conditions separately from rebate eligibility.
Ask for a complete installation scope
Your estimate should identify the proposed equipment and sizing assumptions, electrical or duct work, drainage, gas-supply changes and permit responsibilities. For a strata property, obtain current application requirements and written permission before work. Registration or rebate eligibility does not replace property approvals.
Compare the full installation price before unapproved incentives, including taxes and excluded work. Confirm who provides equipment model numbers, commissioning records and application documents. Keep the paid invoice and required supporting records, and track the actual program deadline.
